Dude.

It’s done.

It’s been an interesting ride all these three years.  I feel really a bit like my favorite line from Fellowship of the Rings: “I know less than half of you half as well as I’d like and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”  Three years really is a short time, especially three years spent careening from subject to subject, hoping somehow to make a collision with some tiny morsel of knowledge that we might take into the future…

We’ve met some good people along our path of course.  The friends I’ve made in law school aren’t as dear friends to me, personally, as I made back in undergrad, and I’m not sure why, except perhaps I’ve become a more solitary creature.  But I’ve walked the line, and now three years have passed and… here we are.

It’s not an ending, of course.  As cliche as it might be it really is just a beginning.  Hurdle One.

I got a new class ring.  My mother insisted, and she paid for it, so I’m okay with that.  But on the inside I inscribed what I think sums it perfectly: alea iacta est.  The Die is Cast.  It’s a battlecry.  The die is cast.  Our fortunes are set.

Alea iacta est.

For some reason I’ve got Johnny Cash’s I walk the line in my head at the moment, and it’s not without it’s apropos, though that’s a different yarn to be spinnin’ altogether.  For now we’ll just keep on walkin’, ’cause tomorrow we’re done.  (Until the bar, and bar prep, of course.)

Salad Cooking

I love the fact that I can make my own Cesar Salad from scratch.

Also, I need to one day actually attempt to maky myself a lasagna.  Isn’t that an odd food to not have yet conquered?

Thoughts

My thoughts of late have been very strange.

I totally need to start up a new D&D group this summer to vent some of the BAR/BRI stress.
