Quick Review of Justice

That’s the new Fox TV show, airing after Bones, not the actual concept.

Short, sweet answer: Meh. Interesting concept, but gorrammit that has to be the most annoying cast of characters ever assembled. Kerr Smith set off my overacting alarm nearly every scene (except, I will grant him this, the closing argument.) The woman on the team was insecure, weak, annoying and slightly cliche. Garber’s character was an arrogant ass, and not in a good way. (Admittedly, he’s meant to be this way. I just don’t think it’s a good idea in a team lead.) And the others did almost nothing – so, I suppose they weren’t annoying.

What was worse was the amount of shit the judge took from the lawyers. I can understand that the show is meant to agrandize the lawyers, but damn. That has to be the weakest judge ever depicted on screen. She let both prosecution and defense walk all over her and each other. (And could these guys act more like children?)

To top it off, the “big reveal” the show promised felt anticlimatic. (I suppose that, yes, life is often anticlimatic.)

I’ve got nothing to say today, except that ‘Salem’s Lot is quite a good novel.

Slow the truck down, people!

What the heck is it with folk? First, people start gettin’ engaged and married. And now I hear that folk are pregnant. This is all too much too fast for me.

(Of course, I am not actually pregnant or engaged or getting married. But, you know.)

(It’s also odd to think that, 100 years ago, I’d likely be married with children by now. Of course, 100 years ago I probably wouldn’t be in Boston studying law. But… the point remains.)

Nice

I actually slept for ten hours today. Haven’t done that in far too long. It feels nice. I also feel like playing me some old video games, so I’ll be hunting through The Stash to see what I can find and give a second chance.

Sorry, no brilliant observations about Life, the Universe, and Everything lately. I’m on my bloody vacation!

(However, as a side note, the Dresden Files series really picks up on Book 3: Grave Peril. Looks like Butcher found his stride. It really appeals to the D&D geek in me when you see a Wizard and a Paladin together battling the forces of evil. A well written Paladin, too. Good job.)

Routine

I need to get back on a routine. I’ll be attempting to kick start those circuits this week by setting myself a regimen to follow. It’ll be a light regimen, of course, as I’m still on vacation, but it’ll be a plan.

Need to get the blood pumpin’ again. That sort of thing.

Also, I want to go to the aquarium. I miss seals :(.
