Serenity

I believe it goes without saying that if you like Firefly, you should see the movie.

If you’ve ever liked anything Joss Whedon has done, go see this movie.

If you like quirky science fiction with great writing, direction, acting, and story, go see this movie.

If you want to see what would happen if Clint Eastwood and George Lucas had a lovechild, go see this movie.

If you like to be entertained, go see this movie.

Serenity deserves to be seen. We want our Big Damn Trilogy.

Metal Gear Senile 4?

Ok. So, I’m a fan of the Metal Gear game series, right?

But I’m heartbroken now. They… they made Snake old! (Damn, look at those muscles, man. He must be 60 or 70 and still cut like a mother fucker. Guess he doesn’t accrue aging penalties…)

The old man still appears to have it, though. The video trailer is awesome. Looks like I’ll be having to shell out whatever Sony is asking for the PS3 once it ships. ‘Tis the want of a gamer.

Along those lines, this week’s VGCats.
And Ctrl-Alt-Del did a spoof too.

Heh. Who would figure, 42 was the answer?

I’m looking through my old Blurty logs, mostly cause I was curious about something. And as I got to the latter few months, I realized something very… well, funny.

42. 24.

I was technically right. That was the first Thursday.

Go figure.

In the words of a friend… “Squee”

Heh.

This definitely appeals to my delicate sensibilities.

It’s been a while since I linked Bunny. Eee!

Damn that Cache!

So I changed the icon on the site a bit. It’s an insignificant change. In fact, I’m willing to bet nobody out there noticed that I had customized the icon to begin with. You’d only notice on IE if you had me on your favorites. Which, well, why don’t you? :) If you’re a good Netizen and you’re using Firefox, you should’ve noticed. But then you’d have the same problems I did.

Well, I did customize it a few days ago, mostly out of boredom and ’cause I’m playing around with the look and layout of the site again. Have to get my mind off of law related things every once in a while, and GTA3 has me a bit bored. There’s only so many hookers and drug dealers you can beat up with a 5 iron before you get bored.

But today I changed the icon again. Except the changes wouldn’t stick. I kept hitting refresh but the icon would always return to the same silly black and gold I had originally created. I eventually had to clear out the cache so that the new one would come through. The new one is much more in-tune with the layout of the site – black and white. Actually, it’s gray/black and transparent. And yes, that’s a section sign sideways.

That’s a throwback from way back when. And by “way back when” I mean the old, golden days of ICQ. I used to be ShadoWraith on ICQ – actually, to be precise, §hadoWraith. Cause, you know, we were kewl like that. Anyhow, I started using the § as an initial to sign off my essays, as they were written through the persona of the Ghost-Who-Cannot-Be. That quickly changed to the vertical §, or the icon I now have. It’s since become something of a sigil for me. I use it to sign off on any personal writings that I approve of. Alternatively, as a sort of warding gesture, sort of an “I’m thinking of you”, “wishing you well” sort of thing.

So yeah. If I give you something written it’ll likely have the sigil somewhere. That’s the story of the vertical-§
